The club was founded in 1903 in Guildford and to quote ‘For working class Cyclists’. We ran the ‘Open 50 mile time trial event for many years on Easter Sunday on the Bath road at Theale which attracted riders from all over the country. It is still held but not on Easter Sunday nor on the Bath road.
The BBAR concert at the Albert Hall was organised by Vic Jenner a well known national figure.
We held a grass track meeting every Whit Monday in Guildford, this again attracted riders from far and wide. The club ran it’s own events on local roads from 10miles though to 12 hours and a hill climb. Alas due to traffic conditions and traffic lights only the 10 remains.
